Why don't I have approved access to ChatGPT Ads or Criteo yet?

ChatGPT Ads and Criteo are in a test phase: how requests work, how we select stores and what to do if approval hasn't come yet.

ChatGPT Ads and Criteo are both in a test (beta) phase. That is why we open access gradually and select the stores that join the test. If you clicked the I'm interested button, we have your request and you don't need to send anything else.

How a ChatGPT Ads request works

  1. In the left menu, open Campaigns, select the ChatGPT Ads tab at the top and click I'm interested in ChatGPT Ads.

  2. The button changes to Request sent and information about the test phase appears at the top. We are now reviewing your request.

  3. If we select your store for the test, you will receive an e-mail saying your ChatGPT Ads request has been approved. The ChatGPT Ads tab will then show the Product campaign and the Brand campaign.

  4. You set up the campaign yourself:

    • For the Product campaign, you fill in your return policy.

    • For the Brand campaign, click Launch setup wizard and upload a headline, a description and an image.

You will find the details in the article Campaigns in ChatGPT.

  5. After you switch the campaign on, we set up your ad account, usually within 1 to 3 business days. Meanwhile the campaign shows Campaign creation in progress. It starts by itself as soon as the account is ready.

How a Criteo request works

  1. In the left menu, open Campaigns, select the Criteo tab at the top and click I'm interested in dynamic retargeting.

  2. A confirmation "Thank you for your interest!" briefly appears. The button then stays the same, and that is fine. We have your request and you don't need to send it again.

  3. We review the request against the minimum requirements below. If you meet them and we select you for the test, we will get in touch with the next steps. Criteo campaigns currently run outside the Tanganica app, so you won't see them in the Campaigns section.

Approval hasn't come yet

For ChatGPT Ads, you can tell by the grey Request sent button. For Criteo, the button stays the same even after you send the request.

In both cases it means your request is waiting and we haven't selected your store for the test yet. This is not a final decision. Your request stays valid and there is no need to send it again. As soon as we approve it, we will let you know.

How we select stores

ChatGPT Ads

  • It is a new advertising channel and nobody knows the results yet.

  • The budget is set as a daily amount, at least EUR 25 per campaign, which is about EUR 750 a month. It is spent even on days without any order.

  • That is why we start with stores that have campaigns running steadily on Google.

  • Your product range and website must meet the OpenAI ad policies. For example, you cannot advertise alcohol, tobacco, e-cigarettes and nicotine products, adult products and sexual health products, or dietary supplements with unsupported health claims. The rules also apply to the pages the ad leads to.

Criteo

  • At least 50,000 unique visitors a month.

  • A monthly budget of at least CZK 125,000.

If a store doesn't meet these requirements yet, we can't approve the request.

What you can do in the meantime

  • Build on your campaigns on Google, Meta and Bing.

  • Keep a good product feed and an active Tanganica Pixel.

  • For ChatGPT Ads, check that neither your website nor your products make health claims.

When will they be available to everyone

Our goal is to make ChatGPT Ads available in the app just like Google, Meta and Microsoft. Approvals only apply during the test. We don't have an exact date yet.

When your request is approved

You decide whether to launch the campaign and how much to spend. We are still testing ads in ChatGPT, so we can't guarantee the same results as on other channels yet. We recommend starting with an amount you can afford to test.
