Advertising platforms treat erotic products (sex toys, sexual enhancement products or fetish lingerie) as restricted content. You can advertise them only on some channels and with limitations.
Google allows erotic products with restrictions. Only people over 18 who do not have SafeSearch turned on see the ads, and only in countries where local rules allow it. Czechia and Slovakia are among them.
The ads show in Google Search and in Shopping ads. They do not show on YouTube, in Gmail or on the Display Network, so their reach is smaller.
Every erotic product must have the
adultattribute with the valueyesin the feed, otherwise Google disapproves it. You add the attribute in your e-shop's feed export. Tanganica passes it on to Google but does not add it for you.Product images must not show nudity. Stricter image rules apply in Germany.
Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
Meta does not allow ads for sex toys and products focused on sexual pleasure.
Sexual health products, such as condoms or lubricants, are allowed only when the ad focuses on health, not pleasure, and targets people aged 18 and over.
Microsoft Bing
Microsoft does not allow adult content in the product ads that Tanganica runs on Bing.
What this means for you
For an erotic e-shop, advertising on Google makes sense. Add the
adultattribute to all erotic products in your feed.If you also sell regular products, mark only the erotic ones.
