Disapproved products: the most common reasons and how to fix them

Where to find the reason for a disapproval in the app, the most common causes and a feed quality checklist for 2026.

A disapproved product means it does not meet the requirements of the advertising platform (Google, Meta or Microsoft). The good news: the vast majority of disapprovals have a simple cause in the feed data and can be fixed.

What to do

  1. In the Tanganica app, open the Products section and click the red cross next to the disapproved product. The reason and our recommendation will appear.

  2. Fix the data at the source, that is in your e-shop administration or in your feed tool. The change reaches us within 24 hours.

  3. Approval after a fix typically takes 3 to 5 days.

  4. If the reason for the disapproval does not make sense, write to our support. We manage the advertising accounts (Google Merchant Center, Ads), so we will look up the details for you and advise on the specific fix.

The most common reasons for disapproval

  • An image problem, that is a watermark, promotional text in the image or low resolution. Images are the most common cause of disapproval. It helps to add additional images (additional_image_link): when the main image has a problem, an additional one is used and the product is not disapproved.

  • A mismatch in price or availability between the feed and the website. The platform continuously checks that the feed matches the product page.

  • An identifier conflict, that is an incorrect GTIN or a brand filled in together with identifier_exists=false.

  • Platform rules in sensitive categories, such as food supplements, cosmetics with medical claims or medical devices.

Note the difference: a warning is not a disapproval. Many “required” fields, when missing, only limit performance rather than getting the product disapproved. You see the actual status in the Products section.
