To understand how your campaigns are performing, focus on a few key metrics. These help you identify what works, where you lose money, and where to optimise.
1. Revenue & Sales Analysis
Track daily revenue and compare it with previous periods or your expected targets.
In the Statistics section of the app, you can see which days generate the highest sales.
Break down revenue by product categories (e.g. clothing, electronics, toys) to identify your most profitable segments.
2. Product-Level Performance
Monitor revenue per specific product — this shows which products perform the best in campaigns.
Compare current performance with historical data to spot trends.
If certain products don’t sell at all, it may be time to exclude them from campaigns or adjust your product offering.
3. COS (Cost-to-Revenue Ratio)
COS shows what percentage of your revenue is made up of ad costs.
Example: If your goal is COS 15%, you can easily check whether campaigns meet expected return on investment.
A lower COS than planned = campaigns are profitable and bring more revenue than ad spend.
4. Conversion Rate
Measures how many users performed the desired action (purchase, form submission, etc.) after clicking an ad.
A higher conversion rate means your ads and landing pages are persuasive and relevant.
5. Clicks & Website Traffic
Track metrics like number of clicks and website visits.
Compare them with revenue to understand whether traffic actually converts into sales.
Low sales with high traffic = users click, but don’t buy → check product pages, pricing or targeting.
6. Budget & Cost Efficiency
Daily campaign budgets and the split of spend across channels are managed and continuously optimised by the Tanganica team based on performance. You do not need to set or monitor a daily budget yourself.
You control the total volume of advertising by how much credit you top up, which channels you have switched on and what target COS you have set. So focus on how fast your credit is spent relative to revenue, i.e. your COS.
If you want to speed spending up or slow it down, see the article How do I increase my daily advertising spend in Tanganica? or contact your account manager. Tanganica Premium subscribers can also set custom campaign budgets, see How to set custom campaign budgets.
7. Which images and texts perform best
The headlines, descriptions and images you upload to a campaign are combined and tested by the system on an ongoing basis. That is why the app does not show the performance of an individual banner or headline, only the performance of the campaign as a whole and of individual products.
Data on the performance of individual assets is available in the Google Ads account that Tanganica manages for you. If you are interested, you can request it from your account manager and we will provide it. It is meaningful once the campaign has been running for a few weeks and has collected enough data.
To give the system something to choose from, upload several headline variants with different messages, keep the product clearly visible in images without text or watermarks, combine product shots with photos of the product in use, and add seasonal variants alongside your permanent assets rather than replacing them.
