I have no XML feed, what should I do?

Don't have a product feed? Here's where to find it, how to generate it in your online store and what it needs to meet.

A product XML feed is a list of your products with their details (name, price, availability, images). Tanganica uses it to create your ads on Google, Bing and Meta, so campaigns can't start without a feed. In most cases, though, you can create one in a few minutes directly in your online store.

1. Check whether you already have a feed

Many online stores already have a feed without knowing it. Look in your store administration under sections such as Exports, Marketing, Google Shopping or XML feeds. You're looking for a link that usually looks like this: https://www.yourstore.com/feed.xml

2. Generate the feed in your online store

Most e-commerce platforms can create a Google Shopping feed on their own, through a built-in feature or an add-on. You'll find the steps for your platform (Shoptet, WooCommerce, Shopify, Upgates, PrestaShop and others) in the Connect your store section.

3. If your platform can't do it

  • Contact your developer or store administrator. Ask for an XML feed in the Google Shopping (Google Merchant Center) format.

  • You can also use a feed management tool, for example Mergado, which creates the feed and lets you edit it in bulk.

What the feed needs to meet

  • XML format for Google Shopping. The app can't load CSV or JSON files.

  • A publicly accessible URL. You can check this by opening the link in your browser.

  • Required product details. You'll find which ones they are and what a good feed looks like in the article Product feed: what it is and what a good feed looks like.

Where to add the feed

You add the feed link during registration in the account setup guide. If you skipped it then or need to replace the feed, you can add or change it at any time in the app under Settings. Tanganica loads the feed once a day, overnight, so your products will appear in the app by the next day at the latest.
