🖇️ Meta connection is not working or displays an error

Connecting your Meta account to Tanganica requires a properly set up Meta Business Manager and the necessary permissions. Below you will find the most common reasons why the connection may not work correctly.

1. Missing Meta Business Manager:

To connect with Tanganica, you need to have a Meta Business Manager account. A personal ad account is not sufficient. If you do not have a Business Manager yet, create one at business.facebook.com.

2. Incorrect permissions granted:

Campaigns and Social Networks require different permissions and each section must be connected separately. If you have previously connected one of the sections and are now connecting the other, Meta will ask whether you want to continue with the existing connection. In that case, select Edit permissions instead of Continue. This applies in both directions, whether you connected Campaigns or Social Networks first.

3. Insufficient permissions:

To successfully connect, you must have the admin role in both Meta Business Manager and the ad account. Access with an employee or analyst role is not sufficient.

4. Connection still not working after checking permissions:

Try removing the existing Tanganica connection and reconnecting. Steps to remove:

  1. Go to Meta Business Manager at business.facebook.com

  2. Open Settings and select Business Settings

  3. In the left menu, find the Integrations section and click Connected Apps

  4. Find Tanganica and click Remove

  5. Then return to the Tanganica app and reconnect
