Initial Setup of Emailing

How to set up Emailing before sending your first newsletter: which settings are required and where to find them.

Before sending your first newsletter, you need to complete four steps. You can do this either through the Setup Wizard or individually in Emailing → Settings.

Brand
Set up the visual identity of your emails:

  • Logo — upload your own image or generate one using AI.

  • Primary color — choose the main color used for buttons, links, and highlights in the newsletter.

  • Communication style — select the tone of voice for AI-generated content (e.g. friendly, formal).

Company information
Add your company details, which will appear in the footer of every newsletter:

  • company name, street address, city, postal code, company registration number — required,

  • phone number and social media links (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, X) — optional,

  • link to your Terms and Conditions — required.

A preview of the footer is displayed directly on the settings page.

Sending address
Choose how your newsletters will be sent:

  • Automatic address — Tanganica creates a sending address for you (in the format [email protected]). You only need to provide a reply-to email address and the sender name shown to recipients.

  • Custom domain — this option will allow you to send newsletters directly from your own domain, which increases the credibility of your emails. This feature is not yet available and is planned for a future update.

Contacts
To send a newsletter, you need at least one subscriber contact. Contacts can be added through the Setup Wizard or in Emailing → Contacts.

There are two ways to add contacts:

  • manually — by entering an email address directly in the app,

  • CSV file upload — bulk import of contacts from a file.

Importing contacts from orders is no longer available: email addresses from orders don't have consent to receive marketing messages. Upload contacts from your own system where you have that consent.

Contact limit
The contact list can currently hold up to 100 entries. One of them is your own address, so you can add up to 99 recipients. This is a technical limit of sending through a Tanganica domain: if an import offers you more contacts than that, only the first 99 are added. We are working on sending from your own domain, which will remove this limit — see Sending address above. The limit applies to all contacts of your store combined. Contacts can't be split into several lists or groups to get around the limit by sending in batches: the newsletter is always sent to all contacts. You can send one email campaign per day.

Once all steps are completed, you are ready to create and send your first newsletter.
